Lucid EV production, deliveries drop after US tax credit ends
Lucid Group’s EV production and deliveries in Q3 2025 missed analyst expectations, as the company faces challenges from the end of a key US tax credit.
The Newark, California-based automaker produced 3,891 vehicles, compared to the 5,600 expected by analysts, and delivered 4,100 vehicles, also below forecasts.
The phaseout of a US$7,500 federal EV tax credit on September 30 has impacted demand, with competitors seeing increased sales as buyers rushed to secure incentives.
Lucid is working to increase output of its new Gravity SUV and has plans to launch midsize models in 2026, but executives cite supply-chain issues and changing trade policies as ongoing obstacles.
The company did not specify delivery numbers by model, though leadership has indicated most sales through the end of the year will come from the Gravity SUV.
In contrast, rivals Tesla and Rivian reported stronger-than-expected sales for the same quarter, though Rivian narrowed its annual guidance.
