Line Thailand sees express food-order usage rise 2.6x

Line Thailand said on October 22 that usage of its express food-ordering feature had risen 2.6x, as Thai consumers increasingly seek faster, simpler ways to order food.

Data presented by Line Man Wongnai, a Thailand-based food delivery and restaurant technology platform, showed that 50% of newly opened restaurants continued to close, while dine-in sales fell 6%, according to Line Thailand.

The data also showed that food delivery sales rose 4% and average order value increased 1.3% from a year earlier.

Line Thailand also highlighted Line Mini Eats, a preorder and pickup tool developed with Line Man Wongnai. The service lets costumers place orders through Line without requiring customers to download a separate app.

The figures come amid broader pressure on Thailand’s restaurant industry from rising costs, weak tourism, and softer demand.
