Lightspeed, Sequoia back $100m series C in German AI robotics firm
RobCo, a Munich-founded company developing AI-driven industrial robots, has raised US$100 million in a series C funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Lingotto Innovation, with participation from Sequoia Capital and other investors.
The funding aims to support RobCo’s expansion in the US, where it operates in San Francisco and Austin, amid rising automation efforts in manufacturing.
Founded in 2020, RobCo offers a full-stack platform that combines hardware and software to enable autonomous operations in industrial settings, including tasks like machine tending and welding.
Its robots can acquire task-specific skills through demonstration and self-learning, reducing deployment time and increasing adaptability.
The company’s investors highlight its potential to scale across industries and geographies, with a focus on advancing physical AI technology in real production environments.
