Lightspeed backs $45m series B in US AI platform Zocks

Zocks, a privacy-focused AI platform for financial advisors, has raised US$45 million in series B funding, bringing total funding to US$65 million, co-led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and QED Investors.

The new capital will support expanding AI features beyond administrative automation, including tools to identify new planning opportunities and improve client insights.

The company plans to enhance its integrations, security, and compliance capabilities to better serve enterprise clients.

More than 5,000 financial firms use Zocks to convert client conversations into structured data, automating workflows across CRM, financial planning, tax, and portfolio management systems.

Its clients include Ameritas, Carson Group, Kestra Financial, and Osaic.

The company is based in San Francisco.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Key compliance details are not specified in the announcement and must be verified for enterprise adoption

  • Zocks is positioned as a “privacy-first” AI platform for financial advisors, with enterprise customers listed such as Ameritas and Carson Group.
  • Security and compliance expectations for regulated financial firms are not spelled out, so a firm-wide rollout cannot be cleared from the announcement alone.
  • Information on Service Organization Control 2 (SOC 2) Type II reports, record-retention plus immutability under SEC Rule 17a-4, and links to supervision or communications-archiving systems is not included, so confirmation would be needed.
  • Those checks are used by operations, risk, and compliance leaders to decide whether broad deployment at registered investment advisors (RIAs) and broker-dealers is appropriate, or whether use is limited to certain teams or workflows.

Zocks’ integration push could create an opening for software vendors

  • Wealth-tech operators may see Zocks’ plan to use its new $45 million funding round for more integrations as a partner opening.
  • The product already syncs with customer relationship management (CRM) tools, financial planning systems, tax software, and portfolio management tools. It says advisors save 10+ hours per week.
  • Independent software vendors or system integrators can create connectors plus packaged workflows for firms using Zocks, which the company says runs at more than 5,000 financial firms.
  • Before teams commit engineering time, they should ask whether Zocks provides application programming interfaces (APIs), software development kits (SDKs), or a partner program. That can guide which integration gaps to tackle first.
