Several Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) startups, including Li Auto, Leapmotor, Nio, XPeng, and Xiaomi Auto, reported robust sales for December 2024 and the entire year.

Li Auto led the sector with a record 58,513 deliveries in December and 500,508 for the year, becoming the first Chinese EV startup to surpass 500,000 annual deliveries.

Leapmotor set its own monthly record with 42,517 deliveries, totaling 293,724 for 2024, while NIO sold 20,610 vehicles in December and 201,209 for the year, unveiling the Firefly model at NIO Day 2024.

XPeng achieved 36,695 December deliveries and 190,068 for the year, bolstered by its MONO M03 model, while Xiaomi Auto delivered over 25,000 units in December, surpassing 135,000 for 2024, with a 2025 target of 300,000.

Despite challenges, the NEV market remains strong, though profitability is limited to firms like Tesla, BYD.
