LG unveils South Korea’s first open-source AI model Exaone Deep
LG Artificial Intelligence Research has launched its reasoning AI model, Exaone Deep, as an open-source project.
Exaone Deep is South Korea’s first reasoning AI model, competing with OpenAI, Google, DeepSeek, and Alibaba in autonomous decision-making.
Tests on Hugging Face show Exaone Deep performs well in logical reasoning and problem-solving despite being smaller than some rivals.
The Exaone Deep-32B model, containing 32 billion parameters, reportedly achieved this performance despite its smaller size compared to larger models like DeepSeek’s R1, which features 671 billion parameters.
