South Korea’s LG, which has businesses in electronics, batteries, and automotive components, said it was developing a bipedal humanoid robot using Nvidia Isaac GR00T and Nvidia Jetson Thor.

LG Corp. and Nvidia signed a memorandum of understanding on August 13 at Nvidia’s headquarters in Santa Clara, California.

The company plans a public unveiling in the first quarter of 2027.

The agreement expands the companies’ collaboration across robotics, AI factories, and mobility.

LG also plans to test its CLOiD wheel-based robots on an LG Electronics washing machine manufacturing line in Tennessee this year.

The company aims to build an AI factory reference site powered by Nvidia Vera Rubin in the first half of 2027, and then construct an 80-megawatt LG AI Factory in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, in the first half of 2028.

The deal also covers the development of a new AI-defined vehicle platform built on Nvidia DRIVE Hyperion.
