LG joins Qualcomm’s 6G coalition for AI-centered vehicles
LG Electronics said at MWC 2026 in Barcelona that it has joined Qualcomm’s Global 6G Coalition to advance next-generation telematics for software-defined and AI-centered vehicles.
The coalition and Qualcomm presented a roadmap targeting a commercial 6G system by 2029.
LG said it will participate as a core partner in connected mobility to develop AI-based infotainment, seamless connectivity across vehicles, mobile devices, homes, and clouds, and high-performance computing and real-time processing for SDV environments.
LG’s Vehicle Solutions division unveiled next-generation telematics at MWC and said it will deepen collaborations with automakers and telecom companies.

- The approach may help recurring revenue plans, alongside LG’s push to expand its subscription business. LG has said it plans to more than triple subscription revenue from its 2024 base by 2030 1.
