LG CNS unveils ERP cloud project in Indonesia for global expansion
LG CNS has signed a deal with Indonesia’s Korindo Group to migrate Korindo’s core ERP systems from on-premises infrastructure to the cloud.
LG CNS, a Korean IT services provider, will move Korindo’s SAP ERP system to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, marking its first major Southeast Asia project since joining SAP’s regional strategic services partner program in February.
Korindo Group operates in sectors such as palm oil, heavy industry, finance, shipping, logistics, and renewable energy from its base in Jakarta.
The cloud migration is expected to help Korindo reduce infrastructure management costs and adopt standardized business processes.
The deal reflects a wider trend of global companies shifting to cloud-based ERP systems alongside advances in AI.
LG CNS has been expanding its ERP services and recently showcased an AI-powered ERP testing solution at an SAP event in Florida.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Korindo’s S/4HANA Cloud plan stays vague
- Korindo has not said if it chose RISE with SAP (a bundled transformation-as-a-service offering that includes tools plus services) 1, SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition (multi-tenant software-as-a-service) or Private Cloud Edition (single-tenant, managed environment) 2. The company has not named the hyperscaler host (a cloud provider such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud) 1. Module scope and user count are unknown.
– RISE with SAP bundles credits for SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP, a cloud platform for extensions, integrations, and analytics) 1 plus business process intelligence tools and network connectivity. Non RISE S/4HANA Cloud setups need separate purchases. - The timeline is unknown. Kawan Lama Group (an Indonesian retail and services conglomerate) runs 1,200+ stores and 30+ brands 3. Sinar Mas (a diversified Indonesian conglomerate) first migrated five business units 4. That scale signals phased work that would shape when SAP ecosystem partners, system integrators, and independent software vendors engage.
Indonesia’s ERP shift opens space for vendors
- Sinar Mas with seven business pillars 4 and Kawan Lama Group with 1,200+ stores, 30+ brands 3 move to S/4HANA Cloud in 2024 to 2025. This momentum helps third-party providers.
- Integration firms and test automation vendors can find S/4HANA adopters through SAP’s partner network. Security providers and localization experts for Indonesian tax and e-invoicing can time outreach during implementation. Training providers have an opening as Kawan Lama saw real-time inventory visibility 3 and Sinar Mas stressed accurate, high-quality data 4. That drives change management and user adoption work.
