South Korean information technology services firm LG CNS said on July 27 that it had been selected as a founding member of AI Materials Foundry.

The consortium launched by UK-based startup CuspAI that includes companies and research institutions such as Nvidia, Meta, AMD, 3M, and Merck.

CuspAI, which develops AI systems for materials discovery, has launched the network as a platform combining partner data, laboratories, computing infrastructure, and scientific expertise to speed materials discovery and validation.

CuspAI said the initiative spans more than 45 partners globally.

Founded in 2024, CuspAI said it is headquartered in Cambridge, UK. LG CNS offers enterprise AI, cloud, and production logistics services.

Hyundai Motor Group is also among the Foundry’s founding members and a Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology-Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology team developing an AI method for materials synthesis.
