LG CNS gains generative AI credentials from Microsoft, Google

LG CNS has become the first South Korean company to earn generative AI credentials from Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud, according to an announcement on July 31, 2025.

LG CNS is the IT solutions arm of LG Group, based in South Korea.

The company received the “Build AI Apps on Microsoft Azure Specialization” credential, which is awarded to Microsoft partners that show expertise in building, deploying, and managing AI solutions on Azure, and meet third-party audit and employee empowerment requirements.

LG CNS has recently completed projects using Azure’s AI services in manufacturing, finance, and public services.

The firm also operates teams focused on Microsoft Azure, including an “Innovation Journey Workshop” for enterprise clients, and dedicated Azure specialist groups.

Earlier, LG CNS received AWS’s “Generative AI Competency,” and became the first Asian company to acquire Google Cloud’s “Generative AI Service Specialization.”

The company is expanding its AI services with technologies such as fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, and prompt engineering.

🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ Multi-cloud AI certifications signal rare enterprise capabilities in competitive market

LG CNS achieving generative AI certifications from all three major cloud providers represents a significant competitive advantage in an increasingly specialized field.

The company is not only the first Korean firm but also joins a select global group with verified expertise across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud platforms 1.

This tri-certification strategy reflects the complex reality that enterprise clients often use multiple cloud providers rather than committing to a single platform.

According to recent industry analysis, AI certification has become crucial for career growth in 2025, with demand for AI specialists expected to grow as organizations adopt these technologies to enhance operational efficiency 2.

The rigorous third-party audits and demonstrated employee empowerment required for these certifications suggest that LG CNS has invested substantially in developing deep technical expertise across competing platforms.

2️⃣ Enterprise AI services require substantial ongoing investment beyond initial certifications
