Lenskart to debut AI smart glasses by March 2026
Lenskart plans to launch its in-house smart glasses, branded ‘B’, by March 2026.
The glasses will feature an AI-powered camera, support for UPI payments, health monitoring with food logging and recommendations, photo and video capture, real-time object scanning, translations, and personalised recommendations.
They are built on Qualcomm’s AR1 chip and can be fitted with prescription lenses.
Lenskart is inviting developers to build applications and is also investing in adaptive lenses, RFID-enabled stores, and AI-powered in-store analytics through TangoEye.

UPI on smart glasses needs NPCI compliance clarity before launch
- Unified Payments Interface (UPI) support for Lenskart’s B smart glasses is slated for March 2026 1. The rollout must meet National Payments Corporation of India wearable safeguards, including two-factor authentication and tokenization (replacing sensitive account details with single-use tokens), plus secure offline use from NPCI pilots and Reserve Bank of India advisories.

- Fintech and authentication firms can use NPCI pilots that embed secure Unified Payments Interface in wearables 1 to offer device binding, which cryptographically ties a specific pair of glasses to a user account, while meeting tokenization standards.
- Security teams can build risk controls tailored to biometric options like face recognition 2 that fit glasses form factors. The goal is to counter fraud risks from always-on cameras making payments.
- Infrastructure providers can target offline-capable UPI Lite 2 with middleware that keeps transactions going during connectivity drops. This suits small-value payments where wearables add convenience.
