Lazada founder’s AI-first wealth startup raises $13.7m

Lazada‘s founder Maximilian Bittner said in a July 21 LinkedIn post that he was building a new wealth management startup with his former intern at the ecommerce firm.

Bittner said the company had raised 12 million euros (US$13.7 million), adding that the firm will be based in London and focus on Europe.

He said that Headline, Atomico, Revent, Global Founders Capital, and several angel investors joined the round.

Bittner previously founded Lazada and later served as CEO of Vestiaire Collective, a Paris-based online marketplace for secondhand luxury fashion.

His co-founder Lisa Sorg previously worked at Lazada and later at Atomico, where she focused on seed and series A technology investments across the German-speaking Central European countries and Benelux regions.

The post did not specify the startup’s product or launch timeline beyond saying it was AI-first and operated in wealth management.
