Kuaishou’s Kling AI hits $240m annual revenue run rate

Kling AI, a generative video tool developed by Beijing-based Kuaishou Technology, reached an annual revenue run rate of US$240 million in December 2025.

This figure is based on monthly sales of over US$20 million and marks a rise from US$100 million reported in March last year.

Kuaishou said Kling AI has seen adoption in sectors such as ad, ecommerce, film, television, and animation.

Kuaishou launched Kling AI 2.0 in April 2025, and later introduced new models like Kling Video O1 and Kling Video 2.6 in December 2025, which offer advanced editing features.

The company reported more than 60 million creators worldwide used Kling products by the end of 2025, generating over 600 million video clips.

Analysts cited improved video quality and reduced costs as drivers for the global uptake of AI video tools.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Kuaishou’s Kling AI $240m run rate likely comes from subscriptions and Application Programming Interface (API) access

  • Kling uses credits to run video jobs, with plans from $10 per month for Standard with 660 credits to $92 per month for Premier with 8000 credits 1.
  • API access also comes through prepaid packages that need big upfront buys, at about $1 per 10 seconds for professional video 2. Resellers like PiAPI (an API marketplace/reseller for AI models) list $0.16 to $1.12 per video by length and quality 3, giving the API a revenue stream beyond consumer plans.
  • The 2.6 release adds synchronized audio with dialogue, narration, and sound effects 4. That enables advertising, film, ecommerce, and television work that can command higher budgets.

Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) firms can build workflow tools using Kling’s API to tap the AI video surge

  • The API covers text-to-video and image-to-video 4. It also supports video extension and lip sync 4. Developers can ship tools that streamline multi-step projects and resell credits at a margin.
  • Camera angle control, aspect ratio options, and virtual try-on (showing how products look on a person) enable industry-specific builds 4. Ecommerce can auto generate product videos, while agencies can offer white labeled services on the same API.
  • Unified billing through Kie AI (an aggregator for multiple generative AI APIs under one account) helps bundle Kling with other tools 5. Business-to-business (B2B) vendors can package full content suites and capture more budget as teams scale AI video.
