Kuaishou tests express delivery to expand e-commerce
Kuaishou, a Beijing-based short-video and ecommerce platform, is testing Express Delivery in the mall section of its app.
The service offers cross-region next-day and two-day delivery through trunk-line couriers and regional warehouses.
The test covers a growing part of Kuaishou’s commerce business. Ecommerce gross merchandise value (GMV) reached 358.9 billion yuan (US$52.9 billion) in Q2 2025.
Pan-shelf ecommerce, including mall-style shopping, made up over 32% of total GMV. Average daily active merchants in the shopping mall rose 30% year on year.
Recent earnings releases have framed Kuaishou’s commerce expansion around traffic, AI tools, and merchant support, without mentioning an in-house logistics network.
Merchants in the test can use shared warehouses run with partners such as SF Express and J&T Express.
That means Kuaishou is pursuing an asset-light, cross-city fulfillment model instead of the delivery-within-hours approach used by platforms such as Douyin.
