Kraken parent Payward joins Anthropic’s Project Glasswing
Payward, the Wyoming-based parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, said on Aug. 17 that it joined Anthropic’s Project Glasswing to use Claude Mythos 5 to scan its systems for software flaws, with the findings feeding into its security program.
Anthropic launched Project Glasswing in April 2026 to help secure critical software and infrastructure. Publicly named participants include Amazon Web Services, Apple, Google, Microsoft, and JP Morgan Chase.
Anthropic said initial Glasswing partners have found more than 10,000 high- or critical-severity flaws. Mythos 5, an upgrade to Mythos Preview, is currently restricted to Glasswing partners while Anthropic prepares a broader trusted-access program.
Payward said it also plans to disclose flaws found in third-party open-source software to relevant maintainers.
The company said crypto platforms face security challenges similar to those of other critical financial infrastructure, though the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s classification applies broadly to financial services rather than specifically to crypto exchanges.
Kraken already runs a bug bounty program, suggesting this expands an existing security effort rather than marking a first-time push.
