Kraken launches Kraken Prime for institutional crypto clients

Crypto exchange Kraken has introduced Kraken Prime, a full-service prime brokerage solution for institutional investors.

The platform offers trading, custody, and financing, consolidating liquidity and trading tools into a single interface.

Kraken Prime connects users to liquidity from over 20 global venues, covering more than 90% of the digital asset market.

It offers asset-backed lending, T+1 credit, and order routing, with trades executed directly from Kraken Financial’s custody.

This move puts Kraken in competition with Coinbase Prime and FalconX, both targeting institutional crypto clients.

It follows Kraken’s recent expansions, including regulated derivatives in Europe and commission-free stock trading in the US.
