S Korea’s Posco launches Poland plant as EV demand rises in Europe

Posco International has opened a new EV motor core plant in Brzeg, Poland, as part of its expansion into the European market.

The South Korea-based trading and manufacturing unit of Posco Group invested 94.1 billion won (US$67.1 million) in the facility, which spans 100,000 square meters.

The plant will start pilot production in October and aims for full-scale output in December, with an annual capacity of 1.2 million motor cores.

Posco International said the new facility will help meet rising demand in Europe ahead of the EU’s planned 2035 ban on new internal combustion engine cars.
