S Korea’s NEXUS, Fasset sign won-dirham stablecoin MoU
NEXUS, a KOSDAQ-listed South Korean blockchain infrastructure company for payments and settlement in games and digital content, signed an MOU with Dubai-based digital finance company Fasset FZE on September 30 at Korea Blockchain Week 2026 in Seoul to explore stablecoin-based financial infrastructure for those sectors.
The companies said they will pursue a proof of concept linking NEXUS’s payment infrastructure with Fasset’s fiat-to-digital-asset conversion infrastructure.
They also plan to form a joint task force that will meet quarterly to discuss cooperation on United Arab Emirates dirham-linked and South Korean won-linked stablecoin infrastructure.
Fasset said it recently became an approved distribution partner for DDSC, a UAE dirham-pegged stablecoin. The company also said it raised US$68 million in August in a series C led by SBI Group at a US$1 billion valuation.
The agreement comes as South Korea continues shaping stablecoin rules, with the Financial Services Commission seeking coordination with the Bank of Korea and the Finance Ministry.
Policymakers are also weighing liquidity rules for won-denominated stablecoins.
