S Korea gov’t plans 500 AI projects with top industries by 2030

South Korea plans to launch over 500 AI projects across industries by 2030.

The initiative was announced at a strategy meeting with Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan and executives from Samsung, LG Energy Solution, and Nongshim.

The government aims to boost manufacturing productivity and reduce costs and carbon emissions using AI in production.

Currently, 102 projects are underway, and more are expected in the next five years.

Companies like Samsung, HD Hyundai, and Hyundai Motor are developing AI solutions for memory quality, naval maintenance, and flexible manufacturing.

The initiative is part of a five-year economic plan focusing on AI as a key growth driver.
