United States-based private equity firm KKR & Co. is reportedly considering an equity or debt investment in Nissan Motor Co., according to unnamed sources.

This potential investment follows the breakdown of merger talks between Nissan and rival automaker Honda Motor Co.

Discussions between KKR and Nissan are still in the preliminary stages, with no decisions made yet.
