Khosla Ventures leads $51m series A of US-based AI startup

BrightAI, a San Francisco-based pest control startup, has raised US$51 million in a series A funding round.

The round was led by Khosla Ventures and Inspired Capital, with support from BoxGroup, Marlinspike, and VSC Ventures.

The funding values the company at about US$300 million.

Founded six years ago by Alex Hawkinson, BrightAI develops AI-driven infrastructure maintenance solutions through its platform, Stateful.

The platform uses custom semiconductors and AI models to analyze data from tools like sensors embedded in pole stickers and hands-free bodycam-like devices.

Its applications include training autonomous robots to inspect water pipes and using AI-powered insect traps for pest control.
