Khosla Ventures backs $105m raise for AI robotics startup
Genesis AI, a robotics-focused AI startup, has raised US$105 million in seed funding.
The round was co-led by Eclipse Ventures and Khosla Ventures.
The funds will support the development of a foundational AI model to automate robotic tasks such as lab operations and domestic housekeeping.
Founded in December 2024 by Zhou Xian, a PhD in robotics from Carnegie Mellon University, and Théophile Gervet, a former Mistral research scientist, Genesis creates general-purpose AI models.
To avoid the high cost of real-world data, the company uses synthetic data generated by a proprietary physics engine developed with 18 universities.
