Khazna Data Centers to launch UAE’s largest facility

Khazna Data Centers, a data center service provider in the Middle East, has announced plans to develop a 100-MW facility in Ajman, a city in the United Arab Emirates.

Scheduled to be the largest in the UAE, this center is expected to begin operations in the third quarter of 2025.

Khazna currently operates with a capacity of 360 MWs and plans to expand.

CEO Hassan Al Naqbi projects that total data center capacity in the UAE could nearly double to 850 megawatts by 2029.

This growth is driven by increasing demand from remote work and cloud computing trends, both contributing to higher data consumption in the region.

The Ajman facility will be tailored for AI applications.

Al Naqbi said that, responding to rising market demand, Khazna plans to unveil two additional data centers, each with a capacity of 30 MWs, in the upcoming weeks.

Although Khazna has not revealed the construction costs for these data centers, estimates indicate that the average value per megawatt falls between US$8 million and US$12 million.

Khazna holds a significant market share of approximately 74%, currently operating 24 active data centers in the UAE and constructing eight more.

Beyond its UAE developments, Khazna is expanding regionally with a US$250 million data center planned for Egypt, set to be completed by 2026, and is constructing another facility in Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, the company is exploring opportunities in Southeast Asia, particularly in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
