Khazanah Nasional, Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund, has unveiled two initiatives to boost the country’s venture capital ecosystem: the Emerging Fund Managers’ Programme (EMP) and the Regional Fund Managers’ Initiative (RMI), both part of the National Fund of Funds.

The EMP aims to attract investments from Malaysian general partners raising their first, second, or third fund, irrespective of location.

Set to launch in November 2024, the programme seeks to build confidence among private investors by spotlighting fund managers poised to compete regionally.

Meanwhile, the RMI targets international fund managers to bolster the Malaysian innovation landscape.
