KakaoTalk to add ChatGPT next month
Kakao will add OpenAI’s ChatGPT to KakaoTalk, its popular messenger app, starting October 2025.
The move, announced at Kakao’s annual developers conference in Yongin, South Korea, is part of the firm’s plan to make KakaoTalk a multifunctional app powered by AI.
Kakao, based in South Korea, will let users access ChatGPT directly within a dedicated chat tab, without needing a separate download.
The update aims to integrate services like reservations, gifting, and Melon music streaming into KakaoTalk’s chat interface.
