Kakao Corp. has partnered with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT and other AI services into KakaoTalk, its popular messaging app.

This collaboration was announced during OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s visit to Seoul.

The focus will be on developing joint products and applying OpenAI’s technology across Kakao’s platforms.

This partnership reflects Kakao’s efforts to commercialize AI and collaborate with local tech firms.

Altman is touring Asia, having announced a similar partnership with SoftBank in Tokyo.

He also plans to meet with tech leaders from SK Group, SK Telecom, SK Hynix, and Samsung Electronics.
