Kairous Capital leads $5m funding in creator-economy firm
Kairous Capital has led a US$5 million funding round in Mantayay Global Holdings, a Malaysia-founded company that manages digital media and creator-economy operations across Southeast Asia.

The firm said it works with over 4,000 TikTok creators, producing more than 1,000 short-form videos each month, and generating over 100 million monthly views across TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
Mantayay plans to use the new capital to expand its presence in the region and develop AI-enabled content and commerce infrastructure.
The company also intends to set up offices in China, Japan, and South Korea to support Northeast Asian firms entering Southeast Asia.

Implications, context, and why it matters.
Missing revenue proof behind flashy creator metrics
- Mantayay touts 4,000 creators and 100 million monthly views. The article skips revenue and profitability. It also omits take rate and the US$5 million round valuation. It never states if creators are exclusive or non‑exclusive. TikTok certifies competing agencies via its Marketing Partner Program which is a vetted directory for advertising, commerce, and creator services 1.
- Forecasts peg the Southeast Asian creator economy at US$1.4 billion by 2030. The creator economy covers content creators with platforms plus supporting firms that monetize digital content through ads, sponsorships, and commerce. Comparable operator Banijay reported that streamers made up 20% of production and distribution revenue in H1 2025, up from 17% in H1 2024 2.
TikTok Shop partnership gaps reveal market entry points
- Mantayay plans to expand from Northeast Asia into Southeast Asia (SEA). Certified partners like AnyMind Group, a Japan-based marketing technology company, now operate in five SEA countries 3. TikTok Shop is the app’s built-in e-commerce marketplace that lets brands and creators sell products directly in‑app.
- Logistics and payment firms can list on TikTok’s partner directory. The ‘Agency Services’ sub‑category covers end to end campaign management and shows TikTok curates vetted infrastructure partners 1. Agencies like dotMATTERS and Nativex, adtech firms focused on user acquisition with measurement, joined the expanded Marketing Partner Program to provide optimization with measurement services 1. AI localization vendors and brand‑safety tools can slot into that setup. That creates a channel for business‑to‑business (B2B) vendors.
