Jungle Ventures leads $10m series A for ID construction startup

Bangun Rancang Indonesia Kita (BRIK), a construction materials startup from Indonesia, raised nearly US$10 million in a series A round led by Jungle Ventures and joined by Accel India

The new capital will fund tech development to boost labor efficiency in the construction sector.

Founded in 2022, BRIK had previously raised US$11.5 million in a pre-series A and US$4 million in seed funding.

The company aggregates building materials like concrete, paint, and bricks, and uses a cloud manufacturing model with a focus on eco-friendly innovation.

BRIK operates in Java, Bali, and Lampung, with plans to expand across Southeast Asia as the regional construction market continues to grow.

🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ Bucking the regional funding downturn with construction tech innovation

BRIK’s $10 million Series A comes at a challenging time for Southeast Asian startups, with regional funding hitting multi-year lows at just $555 million in Q1 2025—a 46% drop from the previous year 1.

The construction tech sector has historically attracted significant investment globally, with over $10 billion flowing into these technologies in less than a decade according to industry analyses 2.

BRIK’s continued fundraising success ($4M seed in 2022, $11.5M pre-Series A in 2023, and now $10M Series A) demonstrates investor confidence in specialized construction solutions even as overall early-stage investments in Southeast Asia declined by 53% compared to Q1 2024 1.

This trend aligns with the shifting investor priorities in the region, where capital is increasingly flowing toward sectors with clear efficiency gains and proven business models rather than growth-at-all-costs strategies.

The company’s focus on addressing specific pain points such as price transparency, material quality, and logistics efficiency offers tangible value in an industry that traditionally invests less than 1% of annual sales volume in technology 3.

2️⃣ Strategic timing in Indonesia’s expanding construction market

BRIK is positioning itself in a market projected to grow from $66.70 million in 2023 to $116.21 million by 2032, at a compound annual growth rate of 6.34% 4.

The Indonesian government’s substantial infrastructure investments, including a $216 billion state budget for 2024 with significant allocations for transportation and energy projects, create a favorable environment for construction technology companies 5.
