JPMorgan halts Claude access for Hong Kong staff
JP Morgan Chase stopped staff in Hong Kong from accessing Anthropic’s Claude models, according to three people familiar with the matter.
The move followed licensing agreement language that led the bank to remove Claude from its list of approved large language models.
The move followed a similar decision by Goldman Sachs, which removed Claude from a list of approved tools available to its Hong Kong-based bankers in April.
Anthropic, a US-based AI company, has said its terms prohibit use in certain regions for legal, regulatory, and security reasons. The company also said it was tightening restrictions on organizations. The policy includes companies headquartered in unsupported regions, including China.
