JPMorgan: AI-linked debt hits $1.2t, leads US bond market

Debt linked to AI has reached US$1.2 trillion, now representing the largest segment in the US investment-grade market, according to JP Morgan Chase.

JP Morgan analysts said AI companies make up 14% of the high-grade bond market, up from 11.5% in 2020, overtaking US banks at 11.7%.

The group identified includes 75 firms in tech, utilities, and capital goods, such as Oracle, Apple, and Duke Energy.

Many of these firms are frequent debt issuers and, in the case of tech companies, hold significant cash reserves with very low net debt.
