JPMorgan: AI boosted sales, add clients in market turmoil
JPMorgan Chase has reported progress in using AI to enhance its asset and wealth management operations.
The bank noted that AI tools have helped advisers manage client inquiries during recent market volatility, including fluctuations in April’s stock market.
Mary Erdoes, CEO of the asset and wealth management division, said that AI tools have improved the efficiency of advisers by analyzing trading patterns and predicting client queries.
These tools have also expedited the delivery of research and investment advice during periods of increased market activity.
The bank’s “Coach AI” tool helps advisers access information up to 95% faster, allowing more time for client interaction.
Over 200,000 employees use generative AI tools, with 450 use cases now and a goal of 1,000 next year.
AI efforts have saved JPMorgan US$1.5 billion and could help advisers grow their client base by 50% in the next five years.

1️⃣ Financial giants lead AI revolution with measurable ROI
JPMorgan’s strategic investment in AI technology represents a new phase of competitive advantage among top banks, with concrete returns already materializing.
The bank invested $17 billion in technology last year, with initiatives already saving nearly $1.5 billion through fraud prevention, personalization, trading improvements, and operational efficiencies 1.
This substantial investment is paying dividends in the wealth management division, where gross sales increased by 20% between 2023 and 2024, directly attributed to AI-driven tools helping teams focus more effectively on high-impact client work 1.
The AI adoption extends beyond JPMorgan, with Morgan Stanley implementing an OpenAI-powered assistant that accesses over 100,000 research reports to enhance advisor efficiency 2, and Goldman Sachs deploying similar tools for its bankers and traders 3.
Despite concerns about job displacement, the technology is primarily being used to augment human capabilities rather than replace them, with JPMorgan’s approach focusing on making AI accessible to more than 200,000 employees 1.
