JD.com partners with FundPark to offer merchant financing
JD.com has partnered with Hong Kong-based fintech FundPark International, which provides working-capital finance for small and medium-sized enterprises in ecommerce and supply-chain trade, to offer financing to merchants selling imported goods on its cross-border platform.
The companies announced the agreement on September 14.
JD Technology said FundPark became JD.com’s first overseas financial services partner for import cross-border ecommerce.
FundPark will launch financing products for merchants’ working-capital needs, including inventory purchases for peak sales periods, and day-to-day operations.
JD Technology is part of JD.com’s technology and services segment, which covers merchant-focused fintech offerings alongside the group’s core retail and logistics businesses.
JD.com’s import cross-border marketplace includes JD Worldwide, which allows overseas brands and international merchants to sell directly to Chinese consumers without a local legal entity.
The partnership targets smaller merchants that need funding to buy inventory during busy sales periods and support day-to-day operations.
