JD.com, MagicLab expand embodied robot partnership
Chinese robot maker MagicLab and JD.com have signed a cooperation agreement on embodied intelligent robots.
They aim to drive sales of MagicLab-branded products on JD.com to 1 billion yuan (US$147 million) during the partnership.
The deal covers joint technology research, product development, use-case expansion, sales, and services for consumer-grade embodied products and applications including education, inspection, and guidance.
The agreement builds on earlier collaboration. The companies said they worked together in 2025 on JoyInside-enabled embodied interaction capabilities for MagicDog, a consumer quadruped robot.
They also said MagicLab’s bipedal humanoid robot MagicBot Z1 launched exclusively on JD.com that year. MagicLab also unveiled MagicDog-W, a wheeled quadruped.
The partnership also fits JD.com’s broader robotics push.
The ecommerce company has pledged more than 10 billion yuan (US$1.47 billion) to its smart robot acceleration plan.
