JD.com’s food delivery service JD Takeaway has surpassed 1 million daily orders just 40 days after launch, the company said on March 24.

Now active in 142 cities across China, the platform features meals from more than 450,000 dine-in restaurants.

JD credits its zero-commission policy for merchants as a key growth driver. Restaurants that join before May 1, 2025, will enjoy a full year without commission fees.

To attract users, JD is running daily meal-subsidy draws via its app. JD Plus members and university students can win up to 20 yuan (US$2.80), while all users are eligible for random meal discounts.
