Japan’s SBI Shinsei Bank plans tokenized cross-border deposits
SBI Shinsei Bank is considering launching tokenized deposit payment services for corporate clients to enable faster and cheaper cross-border transactions.
The Japan-based bank has signed an agreement with DeCurret DCP, which operates the DCJPY tokenised deposit platform, and is considering using Singapore-based Partior’s multicurrency digital settlement platform.
Shinsei is also exploring tokenised deposit services in currencies beyond the yen, according to a joint statement from the three firms.
As part of the collaboration, Partior will add the yen to its platform, which is already used by banks such as DBS and Standard Chartered.
