Tokyo-listed investment firm Metaplanet plans to raise its bitcoin holdings to 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025. Currently, it holds 1,761.98 BTC, valued at approximately US$175.4 million.

The latest acquisition, 619.7 BTC, took place on December 23, 2024.

This purchase was funded through two bond issuances that raised 9.5 billion yen (US$60.6 million) earlier in December.

Since May 2024, Metaplanet has used bitcoin as a strategic treasury reserve asset, steadily increasing its holdings.
