Japanese proptech firm brings home $20m in series B

Estie, a Japan-based proptech firm, announced Tuesday it raised 2.8 billion yen (approximately US$20 million) Series B funding round, which will be used to expand its operations in Southeast Asia.

The funding was led by Vertex Growth, a venture capital firm associated with Temasek, alongside the Development Bank of Japan.

Other investors included Globis Capital Partners, University of Tokyo Edge Capital Partners, and Global Brain participated.

Founded in 2018, the company is tapping into opportunities stemming from the digital shift in Japan’s commercial real estate sector, which contains one of the world’s largest real estate markets, primarily centered in Tokyo.

As part of its growth strategy, Estie plans to launch expansion into Southeast Asia, beginning with Singapore.
