Japanese fintech startup Habitto raises $11.7m series A

Habitto, a fintech startup located in Japan, announced Wednesday that it raised US$11.7 million in a Series A funding round led by QED Investors and DG Daiwa Ventures.

Contributions also came from Anthemis Group and Scrum Ventures. Existing backers include Saison Capital, GMO VenturePartners, Cherubic Ventures, and Epic Angels.

The raised capital aims to support Habitto in expanding its digital banking platform.

The funds will also be used to develop new financial tools targeting young consumers in Japan.
