Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp (SMBC) will use AI models from Fujitsu to enhance advisory services for corporate clients facing rising costs.

SMBC is in talks to share client data with Fujitsu, which will apply AI to optimize decisions on staffing, procurement, and financing.

This marks a rare move for a Japanese bank to share sensitive client data with an external firm.

SMBC and Fujitsu declined to comment on the negotiations.
