Japan PM to meet OpenAI, SoftBank CEOs over $500b AI plan

Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba will meet with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and SoftBank Group CEO Masayoshi Son on Feb. 3, as announced by the Japanese government.

This meeting follows the recent announcement by US President Donald Trump about a joint venture that includes OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle.

The partnership aims to invest up to US$500 billion in developing infrastructure for artificial intelligence.

Details of the agenda have not been disclosed.
