Italy’s competition authority has fined Apple and two of its subsidiaries €98.6 million (US$115.5 million) for allegedly abusing its dominant position in the distribution of mobile apps for iOS users.

The regulator said Apple violated European regulations with its App Store, where it holds “absolute dominance” in providing platforms to developers.

Apple was not immediately available for comment.
