These regulations, introduced by outgoing US President Joe Biden, require lengthy approval processes for Israel, which could delay the development of vital military AI systems.

The restrictions, primarily targeting China, also affects Israel, categorized alongside Mexico and Singapore.

In response, Israel’s defense sector is speeding up AI chip procurements, aiming to build a stockpile before restrictions are fully enforced.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) already use AI in combat operations, but limited access to chips may hinder further advancements.
