Be’er Sheva-based robotics startup CaPow has raised US$15 million in a Series A funding round.

The investment was led by Toyota Ventures, with contributions from Elements VC and existing investors, including IL Ventures, Payton Planar Magnetics LTD., Mobilion, and Doral Energy-Tech. This brings the company’s total funding to US$22.5 million.

Founded in 2019, CaPow was established by Professor Mor Peretz, Dr. Eli Abramov, and Dr. Alon Cervera, based on research from Ben-Gurion University.

The company employs 34 people and focuses on technology that enhances the energy efficiency of industrial robots. CaPow’s flagship system, Genesis, allows robots to recharge while in motion using a physical power source that employs radio wave technology.

Designed for large logistics centers, the system aims to decrease downtime and reduce dependence on traditional charging stations.

The funding will likely support the further development and deployment of this technology in industrial applications.
