Israeli software firm Monday.com rebuilds platform for AI agents
Israel-based work management software firm monday.com said on May 7 in Singapore that it has rebuilt its platform around AI agents that nontechnical users can set up for tasks such as support, hiring, and purchase requests.
The update adds one-click links to Claude from Anthropic, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and ChatGPT.
Users can also access to multiple language models through the AI gateway.
The company said it has 250,000 customers globally.
The company also linked the launch to slow AI use in Singapore, where a Ministry of Manpower survey found most firms had not adopted AI.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
monday.com recasts itself as an AI work platform
- monday.com has shifted from a work management platform to what it calls an AI Work Platform, which the company describes as the biggest change in its history 1.
- The push comes with solid finances behind it. Revenue rose 27% in 2025, while Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) net income reached US$118.7 million for the year 2.
- These AI agents go beyond basic automation. monday.com built infrastructure that lets them sign up, authenticate, and work inside the platform 3.
- The plan goes after a clear gap in the market. Business spending on AI is high, yet only 25% of organizations have moved 40% or more of their AI pilot projects into production use 4.
Software as a service (SaaS) competition now centers on coordinating people with AI
- The relaunch raises the stakes with rivals such as Asana and ClickUp. The contest now extends past tracking tasks to software that can complete them with more autonomy 4.
- monday.com wants to serve as autonomous delivery infrastructure. That shifts its role from a collaboration tool to a system tied to measurable business outcomes, with room for pricing based on results 4.
- Governance stands out here. The AI agents stay within existing security permissions and audit logs, which are records of system activity, easing enterprise concerns about AI running unchecked 5.
- As these platforms spread, the work itself changes. Business managers will need skills in AI agent orchestration, where they design and oversee workflows that involve both people and AI systems 6.
