Israeli cybersecurity startup Sentra secures $50m series B

Sentra, an Israeli cybersecurity company, has raised US$50 million in a series B funding round, increasing its total funding to over US$100 million.

The round was led by Key1 Capital and included participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Zeev Ventures, Standard Investments, and Munich Re Ventures.

Founded by cybersecurity professionals Asaf Kochan, Yoav Regev, Ron Reiter, and Yair Cohen, Sentra focuses on data security posture management (DSPM).

The platform helps enterprises identify, classify, and secure sensitive data across cloud environments.

While the focus on AI and sophisticated cybersecurity tools is warranted, research shows that 52% of data breaches still stem from human error – a factor that technology alone cannot fully address2.

Common human mistakes include policy violations (42%), general carelessness (42%), and lack of technical expertise (29%) – fundamental issues that persist even as organizations deploy advanced security solutions2.
