Israeli cybersecurity firm Check Point buys Swiss AI company
Check Point has acquired Lakera, a Swiss AI security startup, in a deal estimated at US$300 million.
Founded in 2021 by former Google and Meta engineers, Lakera develops security solutions for large language models and AI agents.
It has R&D offices in Zurich and San Francisco and about 70 employees.
As part of the deal, Lakera’s Zurich office will become Check Point’s global AI security research and development center.
Check Point considered over 20 startups before choosing Lakera.
Lakera’s technology includes real-time protection and red-teaming tools for AI systems. Its Gandalf platform is used to test vulnerabilities in AI models.
