Israeli cloud startup by ex-AWS execs raises $70m

Israeli cloud startup Eon, co-founded by former AWS executives, has raised US$70 million in a funding round led by Bond, with total funding now approximately US$200 million.

The round also included Sequoia Capital, Greenoaks, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Eon’s valuation rose significantly, from US$215 million to US$750 million, between its second and third rounds, and is now at US$1.4 billion.

Eon develops tools for automating cloud resource management, aimed at enhancing data visibility and backup control for enterprises.

The company was founded by AWS alumni Ofir Ehrlich, Ron Kimchi, and Gonen Stein and is based in New York and Tel Aviv, employing 36 people.
