Israeli chip startup NeoLogic raises $10m for energy-efficient CPUs
NeoLogic, an Israel-based fabless semiconductor startup, has raised US$10 million in a series A round led by KOMPAS VC, with participation from M Ventures, Maniv Mobility, and lool Ventures.
The company is developing server CPUs designed to use simplified logic with fewer transistors and logic gates, aiming for faster speeds and lower power consumption.
The funding will be used to expand NeoLogic’s engineering team and continue product development.
NeoLogic was founded in 2021 by Avi Messica and Ziv Leshem, who together have decades of experience in the semiconductor industry.
The startup is working with two unnamed hyperscaler partners on its CPU design and targets a single-core test chip by the end of this year, with plans to deploy its CPUs in data centers by 2027.
This investment comes as data centers face rising power demands amid growing AI workloads.

🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ Innovation in “mature” semiconductor markets has proven possible before
While industry veterans told NeoLogic that CPU innovation was impossible, history shows established players have been repeatedly surprised by breakthroughs in seemingly mature markets.
AMD demonstrated this pattern multiple times against Intel’s dominance, introducing the first consumer 1GHz processor in 2000, the first consumer 64-bit processor in 2003, and dual-core designs in 2004 that Intel didn’t match until years later1.
These innovations often came from approaching fundamental design problems differently, similar to NeoLogic’s focus on simplified logic and fewer transistors.
AMD’s market share in the DIY CPU segment reached 12% by late 2017, proving that even dominant markets can shift when true technical advantages emerge1.
The pattern suggests that established companies often dismiss innovations that challenge conventional wisdom, creating opportunities for focused startups to prove new approaches work.
2️⃣ Power consumption has become the primary barrier limiting CPU performance
NeoLogic’s energy-efficient approach addresses what industry experts identify as the most critical constraint in modern processor design.
