Israeli AI startup nets $10m to launch OS for AI workers

AI-focused startup ai.work has emerged from stealth mode, announcing a US$10 million seed funding round.

The round was led by A* and Lool Ventures, with participation from First Minute Capital, FirsthandVC, Timeless Partners, SV Angel, Eckstein Capital, Liquid2, Crossover VC, and other strategic investors.

The company is launching an operating system for “AI Workers” to automate repetitive tasks in enterprise workflows.

These AI Workers are autonomous tools that can integrate with systems such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, JIRA, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365.

The platform is designed to enhance operational efficiency by reducing manual tasks while supporting enterprise-grade security and compliance.

Founded by Maor Ezer and Nir Nahum, both ex-WalkMe contributors, ai.work claims to reduce task time by up to 65%.

The startup aims to deploy its AI Workers across departments such as IT, HR, finance, legal, operations, procurement, and travel.

🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ Enterprise AI faces a persistent implementation gap despite executive enthusiasm

Despite significant interest in AI technologies, most organizations struggle with implementation. Only 15% of enterprises were actively using AI despite 31% planning to incorporate it, revealing a substantial execution gap 1.

This gap persists today, with 61% of businesses scaling back AI investments due to trust issues, and 20% of companies reporting 50-100 AI projects stuck in planning stages 2.

Multiple barriers contribute to this situation: 23% of organizations cite skills shortages, another 23% point to data governance challenges, and 21% report budget constraints as major impediments 2.

Cultural resistance also plays a significant role, with 37% of AI decision-makers noting a lack of trust from senior management and 42% reporting similar sentiment among less senior employees 2.

These findings explain why ai.work emphasizes enterprise-grade security, compliance, and seamless integration with existing systems, directly addressing the key barriers that have historically prevented AI from scaling beyond pilots.

2️⃣ Internal workflows represent a massive untapped automation opportunity
